Etappe

Etappe is the local bike shop in Paal, part of Beringen in Limburg. They sell, repair and service bikes and give advice: city bikes, e-bikes for commuting, children’s bikes and a carefully chosen range of brands. Between them, the team has more than fifty years of experience. Buyers can take a test ride first, and every bike is adjusted to fit.

Etappe already had a website, but it was outdated and there was nothing usable to build on, so it became an entirely new site. At the same time we moved their email, which was hosted at Squarespace, so the website, domain and mailboxes are now managed in one place and the shop has a single point of contact for all of it.

At a bike shop, most visitors arrive with a specific question: my bike needs a service, how does leasing through my employer work, which brands do you carry? The site gives each of those questions its own page: service, leasing, brands and contact. Opening hours are shown day by day.

The most useful part is the appointment button. Customers book their service or repair online instead of calling during the shop’s busiest hours. That saves the people behind the counter a lot of phone calls.

Trust matters with a bike mechanic, so customers’ Google reviews appear right on the site. The feel of the shop comes through too, with its coffee corner and play area for children. The website is in Dutch, the language of its customers.
