Detry Pompes

Detry Pompes in Naninne, near Namur, has worked with pumping systems since 1962. It is a family business handed down from generation to generation. They sell, design, install, maintain and repair pumps and accessories, and run their own repair workshop. Their customers range from industrial firms and farmers to private households.

Detry Pompes had had a website for years, but it was badly outdated and there was little worth keeping, so we started from scratch with an entirely new site. The most technical part of the project is under way now: their ERP system is being connected to a WooCommerce shop built specifically for their products. Pumps don’t sell like T-shirts; each product comes with many options and settings, and the shop has to match exactly what the ERP holds.

The challenge was the sheer breadth of the range. Surface pumps, submersible pumps, lift pumps, pressure sets, pumping stations, circulators, diesel pumps, plus tanks, controls, pipes and fittings: everyone had to find their way quickly. So the site draws a clear line between the services (design and advice, installation, maintenance, repair workshop) and the product families.

To show what they can do, a projects page presents real jobs, such as a water pressure installation for the ULB in Charleroi and a drinking water system for a school in Wanze. Professional customers have their own area, and the family’s history has its own page, because a company that has been around since 1962 has a story to tell.

The next step is under way: a web shop for the whole range. It is being built now and will become a large part of the site. The website is in French, the language of their customers.
